Fosfocil GU (fosfomycin) is applied to treat urinary tract infection, cystitis (bladder infection) in women. This drug belongs to an antibiotic group. It kills bacteria / prevents their growth. Fosfocil GU is ineffective in colds, flu, or other virus infections.

Fosfocil GU is currently unavailable for purchase but there are other effective antibiotics that can treat urinary tract infection and bladder infection in women.

Indications

Treatment of urinary tract infections.

Dosage and administration

Dissolve the contents of a packet in half a glass with water, preferably at night 2 or 3 hours after the last meal, after emptying the bladder. Adults: a single oral dose is 3 g. Children: a single oral dose is 2 g. As prophylaxis, it is recommended to administer the drug 3 hours before the intervention and another 24 hours after the first dose.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the formula and severe renal insufficiency.

Side effects

Exanthema, hives, angioedema, severe hypersensitivity reaction, increased transaminase and alkaline phosphatase, visual disturbance, lack of appetite, dyspnea, bronchospasm, headache, nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, vomiting, dyspepsia, superinfection.

No cases reported.

Interaction

Fosfocil GU can interact with β-lactams, aminoglycosides, vancomycin, colistin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, erythromycin, trimethoprim, metoclopramide, food.
